Along side my professional projects, I am currently trying to develop a series of personal initatives. Some involve graffiti art, while others are community action or sports related. Some of the projects are listed below, with a quick description.
The Rio Report: An initiative that tries to understand Rio de Janeiro, through a different lens The project focus on non-mainstream aspects of culture, including graffiti, or capoeira, alternative lifestyles, amongst others. Our initial project, Aerosol Carioca, has been hugely successful in capturing the essence of graffiti in Rio, and with the future release of our book, Cidade Grafitada, we expect to solidify our place within the urban culture of Rio.
In the years to come we hope to develop additional projects that stretch beyond traditional cultural outlets that define Rio de Janeiro.
Aerosol Carioca: A continual catalog of the graffiti scene in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. As we have worked tirelessly on this project, we have grown beyond our initial purpose and are now moving into a new direction. Along with our cataloging of graffiti, we are producing graffiti oriented content, as well as providing Urban Art Tours and working with lesser known artists to help them promote their work.
Cidade Grafitada: The first print project produced by Aerosol Carioca, it is expected to be a defining moment in the history of Carioca graffiti.
Studio L: The production arm of Aerosol Carioca, responsible for all video, audio and image editing associated with Aerosol Carioca, Cidade Grafitada, and all my other projects. Studio L is also extending out to producing external media projects.
The Carioca Collective: Graffiti based community action initiatives intended to create a network where artists with few resources can connect to clients looking to purchase their services.
The Quinta Quadra: Graffiti based community action initiatives.
Ginga Gringa: A simple blog describing my journey through the Brazilian martial art of Capoeira.
Curley Cashew: A simple blog describing my views on parenthood.
Mundo Real: A local NGO, run by a great friend in Rio, Marcos Burgos. Check it out and support if you can!
LocJock: A simple blog describing the details about me getting dreads.

About Me
Personal:
Life is an experience that needs to be enjoyed, and everyday is an opportunity to do something you love. At some point you have to follow you heart and follow your dreams, no matter how crazy it seems.
I had my first brush with graffitti art when I was 13, and I’ve been hooked ever since. Eventually I realized I had the skills to create my own art, so I did. I was lucky enough to pick up a camera a few years later, and combined my two passions: Film Making and Street Art. I figured not only could I do the work myself, but I could help others get their work out to the world. And it has lead me here.
I have big dreams, and big ideas, but if there is one thing I have realized is that no one is going to give you your dreams, you have to go get them.
Professional:
I have five years journalism experience in business, trade and tourism, with additional experience in the small business sector. I previously worked as a journalist for the online news publication dr1.com, covering national and international news relating to the Dominican Republic.
I have a B.A., in International Studies (Concentration in Latin America and the Caribbean) and minors in French and Italian Studies. I was a member of the US Peace Corps, working as an Urban Youth Development volunteer, with additional experience and educational experiences in South Africa, Barbados, Haiti, Italy and Paraguay.
I am fluent in five languages (English, Spanish, Portuguese, French and Italian), with experience in video editing, digital media, content production and development.
